The WAMS Lab is housed in the Department of Biology at the University of British Columbia- Okanagan Campus in Kelowna, BC. The Okanagan is one of the most biodiverse regions of Canada.
Fully-funded PhD in the effects of glyphosate-based herbicide on the gut microbiome and physiology of ungulates and carnivores in a forest food web: Job ad here.
Fully-funded MSc or Phd in early life stress & tree swallow microbiomes: We are currently recruiting 1 graduate students to start Fall 2025 under an NSERC-funded grant on how environmental stressors affect longitudinal microbiome dynamics in tree swallow populations across a latitudinal gradient. We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in R, microbiome datasets, time series analyses, or avian fieldwork.
